OPERATIONAL SUSTAINABILITY
Sustainability is an integral part of the way we do business. Our leadership and operational teams work hard behind the scenes to come up with new and innovative ways we can improve our sustainable practices. Here are just a few of the changes we’ve made in recent years.
FLEET ELECTRIFICATION
We’re upgrading our company vehicles to electric and hybrid models to lower our carbon emissions on the road.
RENEWABLE ENERGY
The roof of our coffee roasting plant features 3,850 solar panels, which generate 1,027,250kWh of electricity, preventing 667 tons of CO2 emissions.
WASTE MANAGEMENT
We have waste reduction and recycling schemes at all our locations and encourage our customers to reduce their waste by switching to reusable or compostable cups.
EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT
Our employees are invested in our commitment to sustainability, with car sharing, litter picks and cycling to work all part of our company culture.
SUSTAINABLE TEA & COFFEE
Being a sustainable business is as much about the products you sell, as it is the way you operate. At Liquidline, we’re dedicated to improving sustainability from farm to cup.
We’ve developed a new and improved Café Bonté Triple Certified coffee that combines carbon-neutral, organic and Rainforest Alliance-certified beans.
Since 2020 Liquidline has been partnered with Change Please, a social enterprise that transforms the lives of people experiencing homelessness through great coffee.
We’re currently redesigning our coffee packaging to be more environmentally friendly, with Café Bonté Minas the first in the range to be packed in a 100% recyclable bag.
We’ve expanded our range of ethically and sustainably produced consumables, including offering Clipper Tea, which is 100% organic, fairtrade and plastic-free.
ACCREDITED COFFEE SUPPLIER
Coffee has the potential to thrive in healthy, biodiverse environments, while also supporting the livelihoods of the farmers who grow it and the communities where they live. We ensure that we offer sustainable, traceable drink options, including:
FAIRTRADE
Fairtrade supports the development of thriving farming communities through better pricing, fair terms of trade and improved working conditions. This gives them more control over their futures and protects the environment.
SOIL ASSOCIATION
Organic means working with nature, not against it. It ensures lower levels of pesticides, more environmentally sustainable management of the land and natural environment, resulting in improved biodiversity.
RAINFOREST ALLIANCE
Through creative, pragmatic collaboration, the Rainforest Alliance aim to rebalance the planet by building strong forests and healthy communities around the world.
CARBON NEUTRAL
Climate change poses a serious threat to coffee farming. By offsetting our carbon emissions through sustainability-driven behavioural projects, we can take steps to reduce our carbon footprint.
UTZ
The UTZ certification program enables farmers to use better farming methods, grow better crops, and generate more income. They learn how to improve working conditions, adapt to climate change and protect the environment.
ECO-FRIENDLY DRINKING
Our Juicetouch range of juice machines offers a plastic-free alternative to traditional bottled juice drinks.
The innovative bag-in-box system adds filtered water to highly concentrated juice which is dispensed directly into a reusable glass or sports bottle.
Space-saving and energy-efficient, the Juicetouch is perfect for offering delicious healthy juice whilst saving time, reducing costs and eliminating single-use plastics.
